Kelly and Steve’s Brisbane Wedding at The Summit Mt Coot-tha

Kelly and Steve first met through work.  The company Steve joined was going through some turbulent times and staff were leaving. As a good corporate guy Steve took instruction from his boss very seriously, and can remember quite clearly him saying “Kelly is one of the best, do whatever it takes to keep her” and Steve took that to heart!

The proposal…. So there they were on a South Pacific Cruise under a big blue sunny sky, the ship moored in the distance, they were on a beautiful island called Mystery Island. White sand, coral seas, and palm trees, paradise! They went for a walk along the beach, the tide was out, leaving a sand bar visible under two or three inches of water, so they walked across the sand bar towards an adjacent lush tropical island.  About half way across they stopped, the warm water gently lapping at their feet, no one around, just the two of them in paradise. Steve couldn’t think of a more perfect setting to ask this beautiful, lady to marry him. So with the smell of Coconut Sun tan lotion wafting on the breeze, Steve asked and she said yes, A perfect moment in time!  Steve certainly enjoyed the look on Kelly’s face when she opened a Jewellery Box on Valentines Day with 4 Carrots in it. (The ring was underneath)!

Kelly and Steve got celebrated their marriage ceremony at sunset at The Summit Restaurant Mt Coot-tha followed by their reception.

Favorite Wedding Day Moment: Apart from getting ready for the wedding with his two sons and best man, Steve’s favorite moment was seeing Kelly for the first time as she walked down the aisle.

Advice for other brides-to-be: Don’t stress about the small things. Apply the “one thing at a time” principle and everything can be organised quite quickly.  Find the people (celebrant, photographer, venue etc.) who will help make your day memorable.

Testimonial about using Christopher Thomas Photography: Chris made it easy from first meeting to last. It’s important to feel comfortable with your Photographer and we hit it off with Chris from our initial meeting. His sense of humour whilst getting the job done turned what could have been an arduous task into a thoroughly enjoyable part of the day.  He followed our brief exactly and produced a beautiful album with fantastic images that we will enjoy looking at for years to come. Chris doesn’t just produce wedding photographs they are stylish and refined with an enormous element of artwork and attention to artistic detail. We would have no hesitation in recommending Chris, he’s professional, highly skilled and a genuine, fun guy to be around.
